It’s Fall

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite season of year? Why?

I’m thinking today about Helen, that “face that launched a thousand ships,” and wondering about women in history who get blamed for the eager bloodshed of nations.

It’s only recently that the Odyssey has even been translated by a woman, and, surprise surprise, only recently that Helen hasn’t been actively called a whore in the translation. As if by having a face, she’s already betrayed every man involved.

Men want to fight anyway. Why not blame Helen? Then if they fail, they can blame her too.

  1. It’s strange that instead of answering the question in a straight forward manner you chose to take the example of Helen/Odyssey. Though your post title mentions Spring. The season which has a two names: fall and spring back. Resilience.

My insight into nature of reality is: the patriarchy as a world view paints feminine or divine as negative because it’s afraid of it. It looks like death. There are yin and yang of surrender and aggression like darkness and light: in my personal life: they created a trophy woman myth first and then wanted me to fight for it. I grasped more intricacies but no thanks to an institution i had already graduated from.
