What’s a song that changed your life?

I make playlists for books, but not this book. Not yet.
So say it’s What’s Up by Four Non Blondes. Say that because I sang it three times out of four at rehab karaoke, and the moment I stood with rotten teeth before an audience of addicts and belted it out changed my life.
Say it’s Everything Stays from Adventure Time. Say it because I still sing it to both my kids, and both begin to droop their eyes and fall asleep to it.
These would be the non-selfish options, because they both relate to the reactions of others. Even that first one is about the screaming commandership, the joy I was threaded into.
There is no selfish option, but I think all my best books–when they earn a playlist–end it with Hello Comrade by Carsie Blanton.
Weird, that that’s the selfish option.
This one will probably end with that, but we can’t think of that yet. It’s not even simmering yet; instead, I am searing, burning the edges of all it’ll contain, and soon, I’ll add stock.
